There was a Swallow-tailed Kite hunting near the entrance to the park.

Highlights at Flamingo/Eco Pond: lots of Northern Cardinals, Least Sandpiper, a dozen Black-necked Stilts, a flock of Brown-headed Cowbirds which were being attacked by a lone Merlin, Great Crested Flycatcher

Highlights at Mzarek Pond: four Blue-winged Teal feeding, two Roseate Spoonbills preening on the shore, a few Greater Yellowlegs, and more Black-necked Stilt

Highlights at Paurotis Pond: a Gray Kingbird perched on a low, bare branch against the sun -- a first for me, and a great first view of this bird!

I passed by West Lake, Anhinga Trail, and Pa-hay-okee, but birding was slow in all three. Anhingas at Anhinga Trail, a Blackpoll Warbler and more Great Crested Flycatchers at Pa-hay-okee. 28 species total seen; 8 lifers in one afternoon!
