For any of you who were on the TAS trip to Ft. Desoto last week, and thought the migrant count was low, take heart. You did good. Although this Saturday, Blackpoll Warblers were everywhere, that was about it. A couple of Cape Mays and a BT Blue at the mulberry trees. No orioles, no tanagers, no grosbeaks anywhere. Sunday morning you could have nuked the mulbery trees and not killed a bird. It's probably good news for the birds, however, as favorable winds speed them home to make little confusing fall warblers for October.
