Hi everyone

Mariel and I made a quick pit stop @ Long Key Natural Area in hopes of finding Cedar Waxwing. We got out of the car and did not hear much, so we started walking towards the trail. As we are walking I was thinking to myself maybe the Waxwings took off last night, only a few were reported hope we can find one! We almost got to the end of the trail that leads you to the bridge when Mariel spotted a warbler. We searched the tree looking for movement when Mariel calls out Blackpoll Warbler, then a Cape May and another CM then another one. Maybe we will get some of the birds Toe was talking about... looking for more warblers when I noticed a some movement in the tree behind the Oak we were looking at the. Through a hole in the foliage I saw what appeared to me to be a Waxwing's tail, I peered thru and the whole bird appeared. A Cedar Waxwing!!! year bird is a beer bird you know. We were worried that we missed the waxwings this spring, thankfully they were waiting on us to go visit them.
Oh and by the way the fruiting ficus tree that the waxwings are in, were also dripping with warblers. Spring Migration is finally here..Go Bird before it is over!
