I arrived at Lucky Hammock about 8:30 this morning and observed quite a few warblers and too many catbirds. Of the warblers observed were:
Redstarts (male & female)
Prairie Warblers
Palm Warblers
Cape May Warbler
Black & White Warbler
Blackpoll Warblers
Indigo Buntings (5)
and I saw what I thought to be either a Mourning Warbler or a Connecticut Warbler. I saw the bird for about 2 seconds and most notable was an olive back with a grey head, no eye-ring and pale yellow on lower belly. It didn't have bold, contrasting colors, so I feel it might have been a female. I will be out there tomorrow about 8:30 again. About 10:00, the wind picked up enough to make observing difficult. After I observed most of the birds, 3 birders from Wisconson, a birder from Calif., and Jeanette arrived. We searched the Annex for the Barred Owl (a target bird for the guy from Calif.) but couldn't find it.
