A final excursion to Barnes this morning before Emily and I migrate south for a week resulted in a sighting of Angel and Mariel departing for Matheson as I arrived, and eventually, the pictured bird, who sat virtually motionless on his perch for over half an hour. If you look at the photos in the link, the last one shows how he looked without a flash on him and enlarged about twice from the original photo. So, I was happy to get what's shown here. A tripod might have helped, as would an 800 mm lens...If I can do as well in Panama this week with the forest floor skulkers and high canopy denizens, I will be pleased.
From the other reports here it seems migration fallout is picking up..Have a great week birding everyone!!
