Birdathon Report: Mass Ducks Saturday April 12, 2008

Well unlike last year with gale winds ,tornado warnings and thunderstorms, this year was hot humid and calm with a lack of migrant birds. Warblers and migrants continued, as all spring to be few in species and few in numbers. The results represent birding in ENP and Broward County with the best warblers being found at Evergreen Cemetery. The team logged 95 species. Only 13 warbler species. Highlights: Swallow-tail kite-1, Yellow-billed cuckoo-1, Shiny cowbird-1, Baltimore oriole-1, Black-whiskered Vireo-3 (2 at Mahogany hammock), Black throated green warbler-19 (high count for migrant), Cape May warbler-3.

Thanks to all those that made pledges to Tropical.
