Chat tree

I stopped by Lucky Hammock and got a nice view of the Yellow-Breasted Chat and a Whiskered Vireo in the same tree. The tree is a large Gumbo-Limbo on the SE edge of the hammock. You can't miss it. You can see it right from the road and it dosen't have any leaves on it (yet). It's an open spot for good views from the road. It's the third time I've seen the Chat in that tree. Get there before 9:00 am though, because today, right at that time it dropped down and dissappeared in the thick underbrush. Probably had to go to work....like I should have, instead of looking for birds!

Not much else along the Annex except a few Great-crested Flycatchers, Common Yellowthroats, Painted Buntings (females), quite a few Cardinals, and tons of Catbirds.
