I was able to pick up my life Rufous Turtle Dove over here in Osaka, Japan, yesterday. It's mostly business and there isn't much time for birding, but the cherry blossoms are in full force, and that attracts tons of nectar-feeding birds (as well as the turtle dove).
Yesterday, I watched an ambitious Gray Heron (very much like our Great Blue, but with red legs) trying to snag a 2-ft-long koi from the hotel pond. He would never have been able to swallow it, but I guess he just couldn't resist the challenge!
