Another great way to find out how rare, uncommon,and common birds are, is to get a good bird list. It will not only list how common the bird is, but at what time of year you are likely to find it-fall, winter, spring, summer. Some birds may be common some time of the year, while uncommon other seasons. Good lists are Merrit Island N.W.R., Everglades National Park and others. I also have a Checklist of South Florida Birds by Mort Cooper and Bruce Neville, that I use on all of my bird trips and classes. I could mail you one if you e-mail your address to me.
