I'm no lizard expert, but I don't think it's a monitor.
Look at the different feet construction between the lizard photo and the monitor photo. Don't know if it means anything but it looks to me like the feet/claws on the lizard in question are made for climbing in plants and such, and the monitor's feet/claws are made for land locomotion.
But of course I have no idea what I'm typing about :)
