I saw the Fulvous Whistling-Duck with a few others this afternoon, but it was sitting on the ground facing away from us. It looked like a merganser to me, so I convinced everyone it was just a merganser... I was wrong!
I went back to look at that duck again and it finally moved enough to see its head and it was a Fulvous Whistling-Duck.

It was still sitting in in the channel that runs north to south about 150 yards from the north bank. I tried to get a photo of the bird in profile, but no luck. I'm posting my best really bad shot.
