I was a little disappointed not to see the guys who visit my yard in your pics, I've been wondering what they are. They are, I think, medium-sized (somewhat bigger than a collared dove). They are mostly green, have white eye rings and a turquoise blue tinge to their crowns (it's not solid blue, but kind of reflected, mixed-in blue), but it does sometime appear to extend farther down their heads. Ideas?

I am completely ignorant of parrots/parakeets/psittacids, etc. Can anyone recommend a book to help with the local species id?
