I hit the tide at just the right time this time and both shores and the pass were filled with shorebirds (300 plus). 3 Red Knots were seen in their beginnings of red plumage. Beautiful! 3 Wilson's and 2 Piping Plovers were observed before the lighting struck. Lots of other shorebirds-Willets, Dunlins, Sanderling, Black-bellied Plovers, S.B. Dowitchers, and Ruddy Turnstone. We ran into a British birder who had been looking for the Snowny Plover for 3 days with no luck. In the short time we had I didn't see one either.
