I made it down to Flamingo and found the site of the Pileated woodpecker nest. Here is a pic of both the male and female. Unfortunately the sun was already to the West and the image was backlit and dark so I had to lighten it in Photoshop (my flash is broken). Next time I'll have to get there early in order to get front lit images. In any event thank you to the 2 Paul's as well as Angel and Marie for your post from a few days ago alerting us to the location of the nest. It was quite a thrill observing them in person.
