Spent some time at the Arthur R Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge on Thursday. On the drive in, I had about 10 limpkins along 441 south--searching the swales for breakfast. In the refuge we had lots of killdeer, great egrets, wood storks, snowies, great blues, little blues, tricolor, more limpkin & both ibis. There was a drawdown in the C-10 impoundment, so imagine 60 wading birds concentrated into about a 2 acre mud-puddle. What a great scene. Also pileated, red-shoulders.
One question--what is the plural form of ibis?
