This morning Mariel and I decided to go to Cutler Wetlands and look for the Snow Goose. We got there @ 7:10 am and found the bird right away. We got our looks thru the bins and then drove over to the apartments to try and get a closer look but the sun would blind us. We went back to the same area where the bird was seen earlier and there it was hanging out with about 20 White Ibis. At this point I looked over and saw Brian driving up. He stopped, greeted us and asked is the Goose still there? I only have two minutes to get the bird! We answered him park and we will show you the bird, he walked up jumped on the guard rail and said there it is watched it for a minute and had to head out.
We drove over to tell another birder that was on the north side of the wetland that the Snow Goose was on the other side. Jerry S. was very nice and was happy we went over to get him, we did not know at the time but Jerry had drove over an hour to get this bird. We took him to the location where we had been viewing the goose, he locked the legs on his tripod to the scope and looked thru the lens and said WOW there it is my State Snow Goose with excitement. I called Rock to let him know that the Goose was still here, about 20 minutes after we called Rock he showed up to get the bird and the goose would not disappoint coming out into the open to give Rock awesome looks at his County & State bird. The morning was wrapped up by checking the roost spot for the Cave Swallows were the Swallows were hunting over the canal. We got great looks at about 30-40 Swallows, after that I headed to Work. What a great start to my workday!

We have to give Jerry another Thanks for letting us view our year bird thru his scope, we have seen the Goose before but not thru a scope. The views were incredible.

Thanks Toe for insisting that we get the goose before it leaves!!! Another bird towards our big year in FL.

Nature is Awesome
