Hi Nina,
Young male _Passerina_ are brown and adquire their all-blue breeding plumage gradually during late winter and early spring.
A photo would be good, but I'm guessing it's an Indigo Bunting since they are much more numerous than Blue Grosbeaks, and readily visit feeders.
