At the end of the Cypress Bend Boardwalk (west of 29 on US 41) at the pond observation area was a nice collection of warblers including a brilliant spring male Hooded Warbler. The bright yellow next to the black was incredible. It was a bit shy but made a few appearances with patience. Also seen was Northern Waterthrush, Ovenbird, American Redstart, Black & White, Northern Parula, Yellow-rumped, Common Yellowthroat and Blue-headed & White-eyed Vireo. At Tigertail Beach there was a nice flock of Marbled Godwits maybe 10. The boardwalk was open at the old Briggs Nature Center, now Fish & Game headquarters. At the pond on this boardwalk was Red-breasted Merganser, Reddish Egret, Dunlin, Short-billed Dowithcher, plus more. A Pine Warbler and Eastern Towhee were seen in the pinelands along the boardwalk.
