Well, they are closely related, so don't be too hard on yourself. The blue grosbeak has an orangish ( the male that is) stripe on his wings, the indigo bunting does not.
They are different shades of blue...I would call the grosbeak more of a "deep blue" and the indigo more of a "medium blue". Hope this helps!
