The highlights of a walk around the perimeter of the recently opened Harold A. Campbell Public Use Area this morning were a Peregrine Falcon, ten Roseate Spoonbills, thirty Fulvous Whistling Ducks, and eight American White Pelicans. This area is part of STA 3 / 4 and is located just north of the Broward/ Palm Beach County line about five miles west of US 27 (DeLorme Page 114) just east of the Holey Land WMA. It is open Friday through Monday from sunrise to sunset and has a composting restroom and boat ramp at the paved parking area but no water or shelter. The walk around the impoundments is a little over four miles and while the first hundred yards past the bridge is a little rocky the rest of the trail is suitable for bicycles and wheelchairs.
