What Alex says is mostly correct, but he's forgotten that South Florida also includes Big Cypress, where Parula and Prothonotary can be found nesting (e.g., on Loop Rd.) Also, the Florida breeding bird atlas indicates that Yellow warbler may nest extensively on the mainland (this was news to me), mostly in fairly inaccessible areas. The nesting Cuban-race Yellow Warblers are considered by some to be a separate species--Golden Warbler.

Some non-nesting warblers can be seen any time of the year, notably American Redstart.

: Worm-eating Warblers do not nest here in South Florida. The only warblers that nest in South Florida are Common Yellowthroats, Prairie, Pine, and Yellow Warblers in the Florida Keys. We need more information about the yellow bird you saw. There are MANY birds like that passing through right now. Good luck.
