Five raccoons and two 'possum have died in the last two weeks at Hoechoka Hammock in North Broward Parkland. Canine distemper is rampant. USF&G as well as the local SPCA says the calls for pick up of dead and dying animals is taxing their facilities. Checking for paw prints shows no more of these animals. The destruction was complete. We will miss their night time antics.
We are hoping that Nature abhors a vacuum and the species will return
