Nancy Freedman and I followed Joe's advice yesterday and went out and birded!
We started with Mockingbirds as I picked up Nancy, birded along Alligator Alley, up Government Road to Devil's Garden, over to Corkscrew, down to Tigertail (where we encountered Brian, Bruce, and Paul on their birdathon), Tamiami Trail, West Kendall, Kendall, and finally ended in Miami Springs when a Common Nighthawk flew over.
Unfortunately, one of our birds did not survive the birdathon! Our Louisiana Waterthrush at Corkscrew became a mid-morning snack for one of Corkscrew's Barred Owls. (We also were a bit concerned about the King Rails running across Tamiami Trail, although they were ok when we saw them.)
