At about 2:00 this afternoon while doing Spoonbill work in FL Bay I came across a single Greater/Caribbean Flamingo at West Key (just a couple of miles north of Islamorada). 1-3 birds have been hanging around in this part of the bay for a few months now. After work I put raced up to Card Sound and saw the two Brant at about 6:00. Not a bad combo for one day in a single county. But not quite as good as the Groove-billed Ani/King Eider single day/county twitch I had in East TX a couple of years ago.
Thanks to Bryant & Nancy Diersing for finding and reporting(!) these birds.
