: I was working on my deck this afternoon, and I stopped for a cold one. I was sitting there watching my Purple martins when they all took off and out of nowhere there it was so beautiful. They have been coming around for at least 5 or 6 yrs now. This was the first this year. They have nested in the pines behind my neighbors house. So we will hope they will this year again. I keep you posted. i live near the palmetto and bird rd. between A.D. Barnes park and Tropical Park. I live on a canal with lots of pines nearby. Last yr. we had quite a few flying around. They are very graceful. Hope that helps you in the location.
