They have been nesting in my neighborhood in W. Kendall for several years, and at least one report of nesting there was published in FFN. There are also published reports from Cape Coral.
I recently saw one jumping up and down in a small live oak last week and wondered what it was doing as I didn't see any prey. It then flew off with twigs in its talons and I realized it was gathering nesting material.
