Green Cay Spoonbills and Limpkins

Well, my weekly bird count today went well. We had 7 Spoonbills within 3 feet of the boardwalk which caused quite a paparazzi flurry for awhile. There were also over a dozen Purple Gallinules out and about. Right at the nature center a set of Limpkin parents were foraging. I watched one of them break open a large snail and feed it to the 5 Limpkin chicks. It tore the snail into tiny bits and let the chicks fight for the buffet.
