As you leave the gardens turn right and go straight to the beach. At low tide, the exposed sand bars are what I call Crandon Flats. Nothing exciting there lately: 15 Black-necked Stilts yesterday, some Willets, >100 Black-bellied Plovers, Dunlins, dowitchers, Sanderlings, Ruddy Turnstones and a few Least Sandpipers. Piping, Semipalmated and Wilson's Plovers are still around. Most of the gulls have gone, including the intermedius race Lesser Black-backed Gull that hung around for 3-4 weeks.
