American Goldfinches

I posted a few weeks ago how I was yearning to see my usual winter flock of goldfinches that never arrived. Well they're finally here. Have had a handful at the feeder all morning. Plus they are looking a lot yellower than they ever have. Wondering if it has to do with the unseasonably warm weather this year. Does anyone know?
