I first went to the Coe Visitor Center at Everglades to see the Great Horned Owls. A lifer for me. Got great views of the mon and chick. Got to the place at 7:00 AM, hardly anyone was there. At about 7:30, there were already some 20 birders checking them out, some with tripods. Time for me to leave. Leaving the Coe Center saw many Kestrels, a Belted Kingfisher, a Red-Tailed Hawk, a Cooper's Hawk, a Sharp-Shinned going after a Starling (didn't see the outcome), and a Red-Shouldered Hawk. Good morning for raptors. I decided to check out the Cutler Wetlands, pretty good birding. Saw the following:

Coots (many)
Green-Winged (lifer) and Blue-Winged Teals (many)
Shovelers
Mottled Ducks
Great Blue Heron
Little Blue Heron
Tricolored Heron
Snowy Egret
Cattle Egret
Wood Stork
White Ibis
Glossy Ibis
White Pelican
Avocet (lifer)
Great and Lesser Yellowlegs (great views of both species next to each other, differences were then obvious. Had previously seen an unidentified yellowlegs once before, so I count these 2 as lifers)
Long-Billed Dowitcher (I say long-billed based on previous reports) (lifer)
Killdeer
Marsh Harriers (2)
Red-Winged Blackbirds
Boat Tailed Grackles
Mourning and Collared Doves
Ring-Billed Gull
Yellow-Rumped Warbler

7 lifers this morning, made my weekend :)
