By the way, no matter what the bird in the photo turns out to be there seems to be a great possibility there is an Ash-throated Flycatcher there at the park.
Don't let the photo be the determining factor of whether there is an Ash-throated at Cape Florida. I want to know if the photo is an Ash-throated, but the visual and audible observations suggest there is one in the park somewhere.
I have received a few emails suggesting the bird in the photo is a Great Crested and their points seem to be valid but not totally conclusive. So I may have to retract the Id of the bird in the photo, but not yet.
I have never seen an Ash-throated and the photos I have seen online photos and the throat seems whiter than in my photo. The bolder inner tertial is there, but is it > than 50% of that edge. In photos of Ash-throated online the inner tertial is bolder also, but is less than 50% of that edge of the feather.
I don't know, but I hope someone finds the bird calling and sees the under tail and belly for a positive ID.
Thanks for teaching me more about the differences between these flycatchers.
