The female-type Western Tanager first seen Jan. 11-13 was seen again this morning in Bill Baggs Cape Florida SP. It still hangs out with 3 myiarchus flycatchers and I saw it along the Pond Trail ~150 yards south of the intersect with the bathrooms.
The myiarchus that I reported as interesting on Jan. 12 is still very interesting. Field marks that I have seen point toward (possible) Ash-throated and away from a pale Great Crested. It is daintier than the 2 Great Cresteds and is washed out and pale except for slight wash on lower belly. The bill is all dark and does not seem long enough for a La Sagra's. The bird is uncooperative for good views and because of vegetation or angle of the bird, I still have not been able to see the tail tip.
