Well, I waited to see if anyone else from our group would post this but they didn't, so here we go...better late than never.
The short and sweet version:
Sunday, Jan 27, Capt Toe, First Officer Rock, and the crew of Angel and Mariel and Florida Legend Paul Bithorn took to the high seas to see if we could give the SpaceCoast a run for their money. We didn't. The forecast called for 5-10 knot winds out of the west (or was it SW...Toe?), but it was more like 15. None-the-less we did have some luck towards the end at Fowey Rocks (never fails!) with an in-your-face nonbreeding adult PARASITIC JAEGER. Yeeaah baby.
A noteworthy list of seabirds seen:
Northern Gannets (maybe a thousand heading south, several stages, crippling looks)
PARASITIC JAEGER (1, I'm still recovering)
Brown Booby (1 at Fowey Rocks)
Great Black-backed Gull (2)
Lesser Black-backed Gull (1)
Herring Gull (several)
Laughing Gull (several)
Ring-billed Gull (several)
Bonaparte's Gull (1)
Royal Tern (several)
Brown Pelican (several)
Double-crested Cormorant (several)
Magnificent Frigatebird (7 or 8)
Unidentified sea duck (1)
Brew of choice: Negra Modelo. Life IS good...
