There have been several sightings of scattered Flamingos in FL Bay over the last month or so, but until today I hadn't been lucky enough to run across one of them. This single bird (looked like a sub-adult) was feeding on the bank east of Manatee Key. This area is only accessible by boat and would be most easily reached from Key Largo/Islamorada. It has been seen in this area since last Thursday. Two or three others have been sighted repeatedly though sporadically in the vicinity of Crab Keys since mid Dec. I haven't heard any positive reports from the Snake Bight area in a while.
