It looks like the owls are getting ready for spring. An owl moved into one of my houses last week and is laying claim to this nesting box. She seems to be looking out the hole quite a bit...maybe to plug it up so the starlings don't move in.
I have a Barn Owl nest box that I think is also being used. I hear the Barn's at night thumping around in there. Funny thing, though, the Barn Owls are the ones that screech and also make a 'clicking noise' when they fly, while the Screech Owls make a soft, warbling sound. I wonder who named them?
