Saturday, March 26, I visited the Krome/Railroad Crossing site with Richard & Claudia Bledsoe from San Diego, California about 10:00 a.m.We walked north along the tracks, seeing House Wren, Wilson's Warbler (male), Prairie, Yellow-rumped & Palm Warbler's until we hit paydirt; 2 Male Dickcissels, 3 Blue Grosbeaks and 8 Indigo Buntings. Had a Brown Thrasher on the walk back. I asked them to stay around for Bill Boeringer, which they did. Earlier in the day, starting at 6:30 a.m. at the Nursing Home in Miami Springs, we spotted Spot-breasted Oriole, Orange-winged Parrots,Monk Parakeets, Mitred Parakeets,White-eyed Parakeets,Yellow-chevroned Parakeet and White-winged Parakeet. Sibley's has all of the above pictured in his excellent field guide ($21.00 @ Costco's) except for the White-eyed which is in Simon & Schuster's; Pet Birds. On the way home, I hit A.D.Barnes and found the mixed flock mentioned by Bill B. Had another of the ubiquitous Wilson's Warblers (male), along with a male & female Magnolia, Parula, Palm, Yellow-rumped, Prairie and Black and White Warblers. A Swallow-tailed Kite and Blue-headed Vireo were also seen. 56 species for a half-day. Life is good.......Paul Bithorn
