Yesterday was a good day for me in the park was really a good day allover. Got to get my first sighting of an American Bittern. Hiding very well in some saw grass. Good time of the year to see alot of hatchlings. Started with the GHOW Coe and her hatchling. Ofcourse there where plenty of anhinga hatchlings on anhinga trail. Three nest are in plain sight, but the rest you have to listen for the hatchlings heard at least 3 other nest in the roosting area. There was an immature Black Crowned and immature tri colored on anhinga. Plenty of Purple Gallinule, moore hens, and piedbilled grebes along with the common caracters. The Osprey where very visable at flamingo. Had a male and female diving and grabbing nest padding for eggs along the picnic area. One northern harrier a few red shouldered as well. Snake bight had plenty of birds but were all way out. Otherwise had a good day.
