I couldn't complete my comment on my previous entry and can not re-enter that same entry. To continue, the bird was seen in very early morning lighting, but not silhouetted. I could see the front of the bird quite well with binoculars. For a fraction of a second, when it turned it's head and provided different lighting, I glimpsed a spot of iridescent green on the back of the crown of the head. The throat, breast, flanks, wing and belly of the right side of the bird were medium charcoal gray with no sharp lines of contrast. The head was somewhat rounded. It was more deep bodied and stocky than I've seen with a Ruby-Throated Hummimgbird. I never saw it in flight. The end of the tail was small and sharply notched.
