That's a Brown Water Snake (Nerodia taxispilota), not a Water Moccasin (Agkistrodon piscivorous). Note the elongated head, the rounded skin blotches, and the lack of a facial pit. He'd bite for sure if you picked him up, but you'd pull through, no sweat.
