The Keys have limited habitat for shorebirds, especially those that like wet fields. At present, however, Marathon airport (1km S of the main entrance) appears to be re-seeding grass across a large area and the recent rains have flooded it. April 5th produced 1 Pectoral Sandpiper and 1 lesser yellowlegs. The site looks promising and may well provide an additional site for look for migrant shorebirds in addition to MM69 and Ohio Key.
