Saw this board last night, really enjoyed reading some of them. I just had breakfast with my new puppy out on the deck and started counting different birds. Had to get a piece of paper. I live near A.D. Barnes park on a canal, so I see lots of different species. Some are here all the time, Mucovy ducks, domestic geese, 5 Mallards, common moorhens which just had a batch of babies, American coots, curlews? spelling in not my strongpoint. Green herons, cattle egrets, anhingas and cormorants, and believe it or not every winter there is a brown pelican that comes down in our area. of course there are ospreys. I have 3 feeders in my yard so there are plenty of doves and bluejays, and red winged blackbirds, I saw a pair of cardinals munching on my blackberries bush.
With all this activity american kestral are always around. Ihave 3 woodpecker houses that I built and are been checked out by northern flickers and red headed woodpeckers? I also have purple martins nesting now in my back yard, (3pairs) that the higlight of my day, watching them courting the females. I hope this isn't to much. I'm sure that I missed some I hope you enjoy this.
By the way there are always the evil European starlings around evil birds.
