Sighting at Hoechoka Hammock this evening, 6:45 PM. A beautiful bird that was quite comfortable sitting at the top of a cypress tree while we "hooted" it. These animals and screech owls are best sigted at our site at dusk when the trees are silhouetted against the evening sky. Woodpeckers are now nesting and shrikes are too. Mockingbirds are nest building and a fish raven has a nest in an Australian Pine across the canal from the Hammock.
