The painted buntings at Okeeheelee start the show at daybreak and run until about 10:30. Non-stop action as they come and go squabble, get chased by raccoons, squirrels, blue jays and blackbirds. But they persist and if the photographer does too...bingo!
For the photographers in the group a 300mm gives spectacular results. You don't need anything bigger. As for the sandhill cranes, that was a 70-200 zoom at about 90mm. We could have touched the cranes.
