Whistling Ducks on Sanibel

Bart Frazier from Bristow, Va. here. I was camping at Periwinkle Trailer Park on Sanibel Friday night where I saw both Black-bellied and Fulvous Whistling Ducks. The trailer park has two duck ponds with many pinioned exotics (including Redheads and Hooded Mergansers), but the whistling ducks were not banded and I am assuming were wild flocks of about a half-dozen each. Is anyone familiar with these duck ponds? I am wondering was the consensus is on these whistling ducks, i.e. if they are feral etc. Thanks for the help, and love birding your state once a year.

Best,

Bart
