I went out to do some birding/herping yesterday morning around the "cane fields" south of Lake Okeechobee. While looking for owls in abandoned buildings just southeast of Clewiston, I spotted a pair of mating caracaras. I grabbed some pictures and headed off. A few American Pipits were seen near Belle Glade, as well as many hawks. Non-birds included two Florida Kingsnakes, a large Yellow Ratsnake, and a very unwary Bobcat.
