Dagny Johnson key largo hammock botanical state park.
I'm new to birding but am finding it very enjoyable. Today i went birding in Dagny Johnson key largo hammock botanical state park, in north key largo. It runs from 1/2 mile north of where US1 and cr905 split north to the boundry of Ocean Reef club. Most of the trails are paved but you need to obtain a Back country permit from John pennekamp Sp @ MM 102.5 off US1. It is one of the largest protected areas of West Indies hard wood hammocks. Most of the area is hard wood but runs into coastal wetland areas. The area offers allot of birding and is also along the fall and spring migratory trail. But holds allot of year round birding. Common sightings that i saw today.

White Crowned Pigeon (photo)
American White Ibis (photo)
Great Blue Heron
Spotted Sandpiper
Red Tailed Hawk
Plus several others that i herd and saw that I'm not able to ID
(new guy) This area is also know for a variety of wading birds including the Roseate Spoonbill, in the coastal wetlands.
