The last nest of the Florida race of the kestral that I saw was at Archbold Biological Station near Sebring, FL in May, 1982. I have not checked the breeding bird atlas that is now on line, but I will be surprised to see any nesting records for Miami-Dade County since I do not believe that they have nested here since most of the pine trees were cut down during the period 1900-1950. I believe that they did nest here before then. It would be great to have it happen again. Keep an eye out.

P.S. I have not yet mastered this system it would seem.
