I am close to Heritage Park in Plantation. In September, I had 4 Spot Breasteds in my back yard. Folks and 2 fledglings. Two weeks ago, I only could identify one remaining bird. Now, none are showing up.
I don't know if the nutsy mockingbird that has staked out my yard and chases everything finally convinced them to move on, or if something more sinister has happened.
I sure do miss seeing them - I hope you aren't close to here and your loss is mine as well.
