House Finch at Shark Valley

A male House Finch was on the wire near the entrance to Shark Valley ENP at sunrise this morning. It appeared rather orangey, but that might have been due to the sunrise color effect.

Yellow-rumped and Palm Warblers, Eastern Phoebes, Gray Catbirds, and Tree Swallows were the most common birds. The five warbler species included one American Redstart. Other passerines included Great Crested Flycatchers, House and Carolina Wrens, Blue-gray Gnatcatchers of course (but surprisingly few), and White-eyed Vireos.
