This morning I birded Tigertail Beach on Marco Island, once again hoping to add Snowy Plover to my 2007 list. On this day, victory would be mine; I found eleven! All were at the north end of the beach. Other birds seen at Tigertail included:

Magnificent Frigatebird
Reddish Egret (2 red, 1 white)
Bald Eagle
American Kestrel
Black-bellied Plover
Wilson's Plover
Semipalmated Plover
Piping Plover
Killdeer (flying overhead)
American Oystercatcher (2)
Greater Yellowlegs
Willet
Marbled Godwit (15)
Ruddy Turnstone
Red Knot
Sanderling
Western Sandpiper
Least Sandpiper
Dunlin
Short-billed Dowitcher
Royal Tern
Sandwich Tern
Forster's Tern

Along the stretch of Tamiami Trail between SR 29 and Big Cypress Bend Boardwalk, I came upon a feeding frenzy of hundreds of waders, including Glossy Ibis, Wood Stork and Roseate Spoonbill. Also in the mix were Mottled Duck, Blue-winged Teal and American Wigeon.
